 ALTERNATE MEDIA WEB PAGE

The Alternate Media Specialist produces educational materials in alternate formats for students with sensory or processing disabilities, such as low vision, dyslexia, or learning disabilities. This may include enlarged text, Braille, electronic text, audio books, sign language interpreting, or captioning.

To access Alternate Media services, schedule an appointment with a Counselor in the Disability Resource Center, Room 1000 MacMillan Hall, 468-3031, or contact Dr. Jean Franco, at jfranco@mendocino.edu

Universal Design creates a learning environment accessible to every student, including those with special needs, such as

  • Disability
  • English as a Second Language
  • Basic Skills (Math, Reading, Writing, Study Skills)

Universal Design means designing your class from the ground up so every student can benefit. If your student is ESL, Basic Skills, in a wheelchair, Deaf --no problem! Your course is already accessible to them -no need for special accommodations.
